Fish Sandwich Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Bread slices or buns: 2 (your choice of bread)
  • Fish fillets: 2 (tilapia, cod, or any firm fish)
  • Lettuce leaves: 1-2
  • Tomato: 1 (sliced)
  • Cucumber: 1/2 (sliced, optional)
  • Mayonnaise or tartar sauce: 2 tbsp
  • Lemon juice: 1 tsp
  • Salt: To taste
  • Black pepper: To taste
  • Olive oil or butter: For frying
  • Optional spices: Paprika, chili powder, or garlic powder (1/4 tsp each)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Fish:

  1. Season the fish fillets with salt, black pepper, and optional spices like paprika or chili powder.
  2. Heat a pan with olive oil or butter over medium heat.
  3. Fry the fish fillets for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and fully cooked.
  4. Squeeze lemon juice over the fish and set aside to cool slightly.

2. Prepare the Bread:

  1. Toast the bread or buns lightly if desired.
  2. Spread mayonnaise or tartar sauce on one side of each slice or bun.

3. Assemble the Sandwich:

  1. Place a lettuce leaf on one bread slice or bottom bun.
  2. Add the cooked fish fillet on top of the lettuce.
  3. Layer with tomato and cucumber slices.
  4. Add an extra dollop of mayonnaise or tartar sauce for flavor.
  5. Top with the second slice of bread or bun.

4. Serve:
Cut the sandwich in half and serve with potato wedges, fries, or a fresh salad.

Tip: For extra crunch, you can add pickles or a handful of coleslaw. To make it healthier, grill the fish instead of frying it.
