Fish Sandwich Recipe
Ingredients:
- Bread slices or buns: 2 (your choice of bread)
- Fish fillets: 2 (tilapia, cod, or any firm fish)
- Lettuce leaves: 1-2
- Tomato: 1 (sliced)
- Cucumber: 1/2 (sliced, optional)
- Mayonnaise or tartar sauce: 2 tbsp
- Lemon juice: 1 tsp
- Salt: To taste
- Black pepper: To taste
- Olive oil or butter: For frying
- Optional spices: Paprika, chili powder, or garlic powder (1/4 tsp each)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Fish:
- Season the fish fillets with salt, black pepper, and optional spices like paprika or chili powder.
- Heat a pan with olive oil or butter over medium heat.
- Fry the fish fillets for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and fully cooked.
- Squeeze lemon juice over the fish and set aside to cool slightly.
2. Prepare the Bread:
- Toast the bread or buns lightly if desired.
- Spread mayonnaise or tartar sauce on one side of each slice or bun.
3. Assemble the Sandwich:
- Place a lettuce leaf on one bread slice or bottom bun.
- Add the cooked fish fillet on top of the lettuce.
- Layer with tomato and cucumber slices.
- Add an extra dollop of mayonnaise or tartar sauce for flavor.
- Top with the second slice of bread or bun.
4. Serve:
Cut the sandwich in half and serve with potato wedges, fries, or a fresh salad.
Tip: For extra crunch, you can add pickles or a handful of coleslaw. To make it healthier, grill the fish instead of frying it.
