Ham Sandwich Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Bread slices: 2 (white, whole wheat, or rye)
  • Ham slices: 2-3 (cooked or smoked)
  • Butter or mayonnaise: 2 tbsp
  • Cheese slices: 1-2 (optional)
  • Lettuce leaves: 1-2
  • Tomato: 1 (sliced thinly)
  • Mustard or Dijon mustard: 1 tsp (optional)
  • Salt: To taste
  • Black pepper: To taste

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Bread:

  1. Spread butter or mayonnaise evenly on one side of each bread slice.
  2. If you like mustard, spread it on top of the mayonnaise for added flavor.

2. Assemble the Sandwich:

  1. Place a lettuce leaf on one slice of bread.
  2. Add the ham slices on top of the lettuce.
  3. Layer with tomato slices and sprinkle a pinch of salt and black pepper.
  4. Place a cheese slice on top (optional).
  5. Cover with the second slice of bread, buttered side facing inward.

3. Serve or Toast:

  • Option 1: Serve the sandwich fresh and soft.
  • Option 2: Toast it in a sandwich press or skillet for a warm, crispy texture and melted cheese.

4. Serve:
Cut the sandwich in half diagonally or into smaller squares. Serve with pickles, chips, or a fresh salad on the side.

Tip: You can add extras like avocado, cucumber, or a fried egg for a more filling sandwich!
