Hot Dog

 

Ingredients

For the Hot Dog:

  • Hot dog buns - 4
  • Hot dog sausages - 4
  • Butter - 1 tbsp

Toppings (Optional):

  • Mustard
  • Ketchup
  • Mayonnaise
  • Onions (finely chopped)
  • Pickles (sliced)
  • Jalapeños
  • Cheese (shredded or sliced)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Sausages

  1. Boil: Bring a pot of water to a boil and simmer the sausages for 5-7 minutes until fully cooked.
    OR
  2. Grill: Heat a grill pan and cook the sausages until they have a slight char.
    OR
  3. Fry: Heat a little oil or butter in a frying pan and fry the sausages until golden brown.

Step 2: Toast the Buns

  1. Slice the hot dog buns down the middle, being careful not to cut all the way through.
  2. Lightly spread butter on the inside of the buns.
  3. Toast the buns on a pan or grill until warm and slightly crispy.

Step 3: Assemble the Hot Dog

  1. Place a cooked sausage inside the toasted bun.
  2. Add your favorite toppings:
    • Spread mustard, ketchup, or mayonnaise.
    • Sprinkle chopped onions or shredded cheese.
    • Add pickles or jalapeños for extra flavor.

Step 4: Serve

Serve the hot dogs warm with fries, potato chips, or a side salad.
